A shopping list for things that may come in very handy while away at a summer intensive. Also great for backstage!

Project RED-D

Up to 60% of dancers can be affected by RED-D (Relative Energy Deficiency in Dance) which is the dancer specific expression of the more commonly known REDs (Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport). This occurs when energy intake doesn’t meet the physical and psychological demands of dance training, performance and daily life. This is an incredible resource for our dance community.

Looking for a studio? What to ask first.

When starting dance training, or looking to switch studios, it is always a good idea to get a sense of training practices and program requirements so expectations from the dancer to the studio, and vice versa, are met. Many caregivers are not familiar with the dance world themselves, and choosing a studio can be a daunting endeavor. Here is a list of questions you may consider asking before enrollment. A studio that works well for one dancer may not be the right fit for another, and it is always wise to do your own research first, and choose the best option for your family.
